New York City: Useful Information & Available Tours
"I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York's skyline." - Ayn Rand The Fountainhead
"Love it or loathe it, you cannot deny the pull of New York City." - Travel + Leisure
"I was quite impressed by your Rockefeller Center tour. While I have visited NYC for years including Rockefeller Center, your presentation was informative and much appreciated." - John R., Saint Petersburg, FL
Getting Here Air - NYC is served by 3 major airports. [John F Kennedy International (JFK)], [La Guardia Airport (LGA)], and [Newark Liberty
International (EWR)]. Manhattan is easily accessed from these airports by train, subway, or taxi. Train - Train service to New York Penn Station via [Amtrak] is available and is a nice alternative to flights especially if you are visiting from the US east coast. Bus - Various tour operators and bus company’s schedule regular transportation to New York. Check with your local provider for schedule and pricing.
Getting Around Cars / Parking - While it is possible to get around NYC in a car, we don’t recommend it. Parking can be both time consuming and expensive so you’re better off using one of below options instead. Taxi - Great for short trips when it’s late, there’s bad weather, or you don’t want to walk. Most cabs accept cash only but some are beginning to accept Credit Cards as well. Subway (map) - $2 and a much better deal than a taxi for longer trips. Each station and train cars have subway maps in them so you’ll know where you’re going. NY/NJ Path (map) - Similar to the Subway but trains run between NJ and NY. Rides are $1.50.
